This quick look at the Bear Grylls survival tool is the second in a series of reviews looking at some of the gear that has been introduced by Bear Grylls, the British survival expert.
The Survival tool has the advantages of being pretty compact and cheap. Like the compact Scout folding survival knife that I looked at previously, cost should not stand in the way of you having a few of these in places where you might need them. Weight is also not an issue. A bigger issue for me with this tool is that it is so small that I doubt it would be useful for very much. I’m not a big fan of having knives that are really big and heavy because I believe that then they are more likely to be left at home and won’t be on hand when needed, but at the same time some tools are just meant to be a bit bigger than this and a tool that breaks or is too small to be useful is not that helpful. I’d recommend instead that you get a decent folding knife for surivival situations and a normal-sized folding multi-tool for everyday use.

Product Description
It is small and light but I'm not completely conviced that it is up for any serious work. Still, I suppose something that is with you because it is on your keyring is better than the best survival tool sitting at home.
